Conan O’Brien has been getting on my nerves lately. Donald Trump is thinking about running for president. Donald Trump is also an idiot. Conan delights in this. Every night, after Conan makes some Donald Trump joke, he goes on and on about how terrific it is that the idiot Donald Trump might run for president, because it makes his job much easier. I think every comedian is guilty of this. I remember Jon Stewart doing it when McCain was running.

Comedians of the United States of America, listen to me. Yes, having a buffoon for president might make your job easier, but it makes living in America harder. Most of us aren’t comedians; most of us have a hard time paying bills, living check to check. What we need is someone smart, Republican or Democrat, it doesn’t really matter. We need someone with good ideas, someone who can make good things happen for this country.
