Part of Everything
…the best things in life are free (after initial costs)

On March 6th, I’m buying a Kindle. I was saving up for a Nintendo 3DS, but after seeing the launch line-up (No Mario games? Has a Nintendo console ever launched without one?), I decided to wait. So, I’m getting a Kindle instead. Yes, ordinary books are fine, but I just can’t get past the benefits of a Kindle, of which there are plenty. Most notably, shelf space. Anyone who knows me knows I have no room in my room for, well, anything. But after doing my research I’ve discovered that several books exist in the Kindle marketplace for free, including several books I had planned on purchasing. I wanted to include a list of books here that I’ll be getting for free for two reasons; one, to share with my friends, and two, to have a list to reference after I get my Kindle. So, here’s what I’ll be reading:

*Bram Stoker’s Dracula

*Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein

*The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

*The Legend of Sleepy Hollow by Washington Irving

*Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll

*The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne

*The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas

*The Iliad and The Odyssey by Homer

*The War of the Worlds by H.G. Wells

Free, all of those (among several others, which I might look at in time). When I found that out, I was ecstatic. I had been planning on buying at least four of those. So yes, the Kindle is going to turn me into a literary snob. But I’m really excited about it, and very excited about adding my own books to the thing; The Arcane Union, Wrencolt, From 8-bit, and Riceland Vol. 1. My neighbor has a Kindle, the same model I’d be getting, and she let me demo it. All in all, I’m just really excited for this and I’m looking forward to the 6th. Also, Pokémon.
